Freelance Software Developer
Adventures in development, circuits, creativity, and questionable life choices.
Hello, world!
So, here it is.
After many blogs created in Wordpress and other blogging platforms, I figured it was time to build something that I can call my own.
After all, I wouldn't be much of a software developer if I didn't roll my own portfolio and blog website, right? 😄
Right now, there's not much content in the blog section of the website, but my goal is to document (personal) projects and things that interest me.
Things you can expect would include (but are certainly not limited to): Python development (I AM a Python backend dev, after all), game development, demoscene-related projects, and some general rambling and (mis)adventures in hardware, home automation and other fun things.
Fun fact: This website took me a bit longer than expected, mostly due to other projects getting in the way and shoving it to the side. Something about setting priorities.
It also does not help that I tend to overengineer my own personal projects.
So that would be one of the takeaways: Try to find a balance between "nice to haves", and things that are essential. While this is not a realisation that I just now had, it is something I definitely need to keep in mind more. Heck, even this very website still could use some more polish. Or maybe it's just because I'm being too perfectionistic for my own personal projects. But I digress.
I'm not going to give myself a predetermined moment to create blog posts.
Reason for that is that I like to document things as I go. This also reflects heavily in the projects that I do.
Think of it as a journal of "things that Steve thinks are pretty cool to document".
For now, I hope this introductory post is a bit clear.
Enjoy!
